Raised in Hawaii by parents who were born and raised in the Hawaiian Islands, I spent quite a few years in Sarasota, Florida, where I raised and showed Quarter horses while living on a 440-acre cattle ranch. I took riding lessons for years, starting when I was very young, learning dressage and English riding first, and then fell in love with the Western discipline, and showed horses in Western Pleasure, halter, reining and a little bit of Hunt Seat.

Along with the horse and cattle ranch in Sarasota, I had a Feed and Western Wear store with my former husband. He ran the feed, farm equipment side, and I took care of the Western Wear and tack side. Going to the Dallas Markets during the year was quite exciting, and I wish I was able to do that now! Brands I carried included Lucchese, Tony Lama, Larry Mahan, Justin and Nocona boots (and others) along with apparel, hats (I still love Resistol and Charlie1Horse!), lots of sterling silver jewelry (Vogt, etc.), and tack. To this day I still have some of the great handmade leather-with-fringe jackets and skirts from ‘the good old days.’

The ‘Urban Cowboy’ was hot back then, and we flew Ray from the TV program of the day, Dallas, out for one of our many promotions. Here’s a photo of me with Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly) during the promotion:

I’m passionate about promoting horses, the Western lifestyle, artisans, ranch properties, horse farms, Cowboys, trainers and clinicians, vendors, Country Western singers/artists (to name a few things…) and would love to do only that, while living in an Airstream.

In the meantime, during the year I attend social media, technology and real estate events, blog, tweet, take pictures, and create videos to provide up-close and personal information for you, whether you are on my horse website, Horsealicious, my Western North Carolina real estate blog and website, my Lifestream, or any of my Breaking News websites .
