“Nightline” anchor Bill Weir was invited to Brannaman’s ranch outside Sheridan, Wyo., to watch the cowboy at work. Riding through snow-capped mountains on Brannaman’s 100-acre ranch, with his nearly 30 horses, was the perfect setting for the story of a man who spends his life giving back to the creatures that he credits for saving his life after years spent with an abusive father.” Via abcnews.go.com

Thanks to the Enlightened Horseman, Robin Shen, for retweeting this very cute picture. If you aren’t following Robin’s blog or his tweets yet, you are missing a great opportunity to follow a very enlightened horseman and an extremely nice Cowboy.
Robin Shen is a passionate horseman who is not only busy training horses, teaching and utilizing natural horsemanship and classical horsemanship, but he also provides a wealth of training information on his blog, The Enlightened Horseman. You will find instructions and tips for any number of training and corrective issues, both written and through video, and he adds to this blog on a regular basis.
Robin also has other blogs which are listed on his Blogger profile information here. I’ve enjoyed reading and watching ‘Max’ make progress … Follow Max from green to solid.
Robin, amazingly, is also quite ‘enlightened’ in Social Media. I discovered him on Twitter! He contributes great information on Twitter, and even answers questions. Follow him here: @RobinShen
I followed Chris around as best I could Saturday (June 20) with my Flip Video at Rockin’ S Arena in Georgia to see if I could bring back something to share. Ignore the novice iMovie creator – - there’s great Chris Cox wisdom to make up for the movie-maker’s shortcomings.
Yesterday I drove to the Rockin’ S Arena in Buckhead GA to audit one day of a Chris Cox three-day clinic. Chris is an amazing and talented horseman, and it was my pleasure to be able to watch him in real life. Here is a description of some of what he teaches at his three-day clinics:
“The 3-Day Clinics will cover the basic horsemanship techniques that Chris teaches in his Instructional Programs, but rather than simply taking instruction from a DVD and hoping to follow accurately, clinic participants will have Chris Cox there in person to oversee, evaluate and assure their progress.
Chris will scrutinize the horses in the clinic, assessing their individual personalities in order to use his insights to help clinic participants better understand their horses. Sharing his vast knowledge and experience, Chris will make it possible for both clinic participants and auditors to move toward a more harmonious partnership with their horses.”
Attending one of Chris’ 6-Day Horsemanship Clinics on his ranch in Mineral Wells TX would be to die for!
Many moons ago I co-owned a feed and western wear supply store in Sarasota, FL back when I had 20 to 30 Quarter horses that I raised and showed, and when I was married to Mr. Blackmon (he raised cattle).
Dallas was THE big television program back then, and some of you might recognize Ray Krebbs (Steve Kanaly) in the picture with me. We flew him in for a big promotion and had huge crowds, television coverage, and screaming females! He looked even better in his Cowboy hat!
Speaking of Cowboys, Chris Cox is written up in the new issue of Cowboys & Indians Magazine so don’t forget to get your copy if you aren’t subscribed to the magazine.
