Sally Kresser Gummoe is a life-long cowgirl and the author of “Spirit of the Happy Trails of My Life,” an autobiography. The book is not on line [yet]. Sally’s heroes have always been Roy Rogers and John Wayne, she has always had a passion for horses, and her fascination with the West and Western culture is insatiable.
It was my pleasure and extra good fortune to meet Ms. Sally, who lives close to me, several weeks ago at an Indian Pow Wow in Fort McCoy, FL. She travels to a few Pow Wows and horse shows each year, setting up her ‘Trading Post’ and filling her booth and tables with wonderful treasures she has either created or collected during her most appealing life.
The slideshow will give you a peek at a very small portion of cowgirl memorabilia that surrounds Ms. Sally, including an amazing horsehair bridle, and part of her Trading Post. I could spend all day, every day, right there! Read more about Sally Gummoe and her visit to the Florida Carriage Museum.
The three legendary Camarillo Brothers, Jerold, Leo, and Reg are true pioneers in the Cowboy community. Their passion for rodeo and roping is iconic. Brothers Leo and Jerold, fierce competitors in any arena thanks to their ingenuity with a nylon rope and their unmatched practice and determination, went on to create a roping dynasty, revolutionizing the event of Team Roping.
They continue, to this day, “Changing the Game.” If you love anything Cowboy … boots, tight jeans, cutting, ranching, cow horses, horse training, etc., … watching the Kevin Fox Film Documentary, “Changing the Game,” will be an emotional experience for you, no matter your age. Filled with rare home movies and family photos, “Changing the Game” brings you smack dab to the inside of this authentic and legendary family. I want them to ‘scoop loop’ me and never let me go! (Seriously.)
“Wild West kitsch will take over Christie’s plush quarters at Rockefeller Center at noon on Friday. A preview opens for the last of this year’s five major auctions dispersing the contents of the Roy Rogers-Dale Evans Museum in Branson, Mo.”
