Which Living Legends Revolutionized Team Roping and Continue “Changing the Game?”

Camarillo Team Roping ~ Rope Smart

Courtesy Camarillo Team Roping

The three legendary Camarillo Brothers, Jerold, Leo, and Reg are true pioneers in the Cowboy community. Their passion for rodeo and roping is iconic. Brothers Leo and Jerold, fierce competitors in any arena thanks to their ingenuity with a nylon rope and their unmatched practice and determination, went on to create a roping dynasty, revolutionizing the event of Team Roping.

Kevin Fox FilmsThey continue, to this day, “Changing the Game.” If you love anything Cowboy … boots, tight jeans, cutting, ranching, cow horses, horse training, etc., … watching the Kevin Fox Film Documentary, “Changing the Game,” will be an emotional experience for you, no matter your age. Filled with rare home movies and family photos, “Changing the Game” brings you smack dab to the inside of this authentic and legendary family. I want them to ‘scoop loop’ me and never let me go! (Seriously.)

Do You Have Any Gypsy Tails for Your Horse?

Colorful bling for your horse (heck, I’d like some of them in my own hair!) from Gypsy Tails. You can ‘light up’ your horse’s main and tail with fiberoptics as well.

The video below tells more about Gypsy Tails ~ how to order, pricing, colors and provides great instructions in attaching the extensions to your horse’s mane or tail. You may find out more and purchase the extensions on Fallon Taylor’s Dynasty Equine website.  Gypsy Tails is also on Facebook.

What Can You ‘Stirrup’ at Nettles Country?

Nettles BillboardNettles Country, in Madisonville, Texas, exemplifies the Western lifestyle at its best. One of the best cutting horse trainers and riders in the world (and 1984 winner of the “Super Bowl of Cutting,” the National Cutting Horse Futurity in Fort Worth), Ronnie Nettles and his wife, author and keynote speaker Gala Nettles, have been truly immersed in the Western lifestyle in Nettles Country for a lifetime. As described on their website, Nettles Country offers:

* the finest stirrups on the market, plus hand-picked tack to compliment them,

* unique and one-of-a-kind home décor and gifts,

* a Bed and Breakfast, Bunkhouse & Biscuits, peppered with western nostalgia!

* the training services of NCHA Hall of Fame trainer Ronnie Nettles.

Sounds like a dream ranch to me!

Love Western Silver Saddles?

If you love Western silver saddles and, in particular, are a collector of Western silver saddles, I think you will enjoy George Pitman’s website: George Pitman Silver Saddles.

There is a wealth of information about the late Edward H. Bohlin and his astonishing silver-encrusted parade saddles, a saddle photo gallery, and even information about the late master saddlemaker, Frank H. Coenen.

Ever Wanted to Marry a McLelland’s Saddlery Saddle?

Have you ever wanted to marry a McLelland’s Saddlery saddle? I hadn’t until I saw my girlfriend’s saddle yesterday. OMG! It was instant love … exquisite hand-tooled leather, sterling silver everywhere, and beautiful multi-faceted bling. Quite spectacular. Hope I did the saddle justice in the slideshow below.

McLelland’s Saddlery has been in business since 1892, and I owned some of their halters, bridles and saddles back in my Quarter horse show days during the 70′s and 80′s. Located at 317 N Dixie in Lake Worth, FL, their phone number is 800-662-3226. Check out McLelland’s saddles, show headstalls, silver rommel reins, and much more.
