The State of North Carolina Knows A Cowboy Is An Icon.

I can’t believe it…. there was a “National Day of the American Cowboycelebration in Marshall, NC and I missed it! According to Gene Blankenship:

“We held our Cowboy Day event in Marshall which included a Kids Ranch Rodeo and a Team Roping event that evening, all to celebrate the Cowboy Day and the Cowboys of Western North Carolina.”

Gene is Pastor of Land of the Sky Cowboy Church in Buncombe County, and I understand he may be starting a Cowboy Church in Haywood County. Please click his icon below to see his website and his family:

Here is a copy of the Governor of North Carolina’s Proclamation of the “National Day of the American Cowboy 2009” kindly sent to me by Gene.

Stay tuned for news about the 2010 “National Day of the American Cowboy,” and updates about plans for the Land of the Sky Cowboy Church in Haywood County.
