Sunday at the Live Oak International Combined Driving Event in Ocala, I noticed a table full of red rose arrangements (pictured below), and immediately thought about the Kentucky Derby and the “Run for the Roses.” Here is a brief history of the beautiful red rose garland that race horse owners dream of winning and then dipping in bronze, silver or gold for posterity!
